• Another trick that seems to work on the iPad is to go to the search page and type In Tapped Out. When the search result comes up it still shows “Open” but if you tap it to go to the game page, it will show the “Update” button

• To actually tap the buildings and characters, I can get to everyone in 2-3 minutes. But my multiplier is high enough now that it takes upwards of 10 minutes for all of the icons to 'float in' which gets to be painful sometimes

• The only way to get shovels is from the tasks at the Mom & Pop Hardware store - there are only 7 characters you can send there, for a max. of 17 shovels every four hours which seems to be more than enough. If you don't have the premium characters though, it would cut that almost in half making it a lot tougher.
