Are permanent perks actually worth it?

I've done all the solo challenges over the last couple of weeks and collected myself about 20-25 gold tokens.

Not sure whether to drop a couple of wildcards on some gold perks or 1 elite perk but does anyone actually notice a decent difference?

Replies

  • been wondering that myself. The price is steep as usual
  • Nope id rather say that theres no dif at all... Spending daily tokens that could give You 2 wild cards will give You strenght +4 or subd + 4 and thats it. Making elite perks is obviously not worth it as You need 3 elite tokens and many daily tokens.
  • I think they are good. At least when you stack them and match your moves with em. I also like to use perks that weaken the opponent. Like now I have El Guapo and Butcher Elite Perks paired with 4 Star Body Roundhouse and Lead Body Roundhouse kicks and two kind of body side kicks. Great stuff.

The question is if theyre worth to go for.. I cant see any dif while i have it equiped.
  • Yeah they’re worth it, not all of them but some will make you a killer

My tactic is to work the body. Those Perks combined with powerful moves help it considerably. It is not even up for a debate. It's a given thing. There is a difference.

Yeah it might work when You are going for the body over and over again but still imo most of the perks arent worth 3 elite tokens. Did few of them gold but wont even bother to upgrade it.
  • Obviously you want to have 5 star fighter in every weight class, but after that using your dailies for perks is the best move.
  • I think I'll do a few gold. The difference between gold and elite seems so small for its cost

I'm with you on this. I don't bother wasting wild cards on the perks. If I get gold or elite ones from packs, I use them. Otherwise, I go with the bronze ones. For me, they've made ZERO difference in the fight outcomes.

To me personally, it doesn't make much of a difference between elite and master level fighters. What I really want is master-level moves, but greedy EA turds only make them available through price gouging on the packs and they only make them available for a day or two. So, I don't bother with those either. I just work with what I have and for the most part, have completely stopped giving a damn whether I win or lose. Just trying to improve my game, regardless of the outcome...
  • MAN... You couldn't be more wrong.

Master level fighters just have so much better base to build. Basic level stats higher, more physical slots (10) and always at least as good move slots. 5 Perks too. The difference is not major, but it is distinctive.

With perks and moves the difference is not as big, but when you pile them up it all adds up. Although 4 and 5 star submission and ground moves DO make a big difference. Some of the top guys have killer combos with 4-5 star Armbar+Triangle and/or Kimuras. And was it 4 star BJJ Transitions that gives you rubber guard and possibility to transition from bottom side control to full guard... Those are MASSIVE.

But yeah. You stack some body perks with 4 star body kicks => you gonna soft those torsos up really nice... Like PLUUUUMS... I just tendered Top30 player under 7 minutes and knocked him to hell with Lead Body Spin Kick.

It all adds up. Trust me.

I am well aware of the advantages of the base stats of master level fighters vs elite, but you missed my point. If I had to choose between a master level fighter with gold moves vs a gold level fighter with master moves, it'd take the latter. I've been on the "wrong" end of this equation many times (win with gold vs master and lost with master vs gold) and am speaking from experience that TO ME, master moves are 100% more valuable than master level fighters.

I only have one master level move because I'm not willing to spend real money, so, this game is inherently corrupt. I only have a about five or six elite level moves and only one - wrestling reversals on the ground. I prefer ground fighting, but so many of you, strikers and brawlers, have your bottom and sub D maxed out it's very difficult to win and I to this day can't figure out how to block the elite bjj transitions.

Anyways, this game sucks. Compared to UFC 2, it's designed to be a money pit and rewards those, who spend. I can't wait for UFC 4 to come out to quit playing this crap altogether and hopefully, enough of us got fed up with EA corruption to kick it to the curb. Then, the 20 or 30 of you, THE THUMB MASTERS, can have at it with each other....

You're so negative, constantly moaning. How about just get good at the game and stop making endless excuses about why you lose? You don't lose because your opponent spent more. As for ''I only have 1 master level move because I'm not willing to spend real money'' completely **** statement, master moves have been available in several promos, instead of putting in the effort you would rather sit here moaning.

Clearly, you're the only one, not moaning here. Congrats, you really know how to use your thumbs!! Your mission in life has been accomplished and you've got nothing else to strive for. You're the greatest thumbs' champion there ever was! There is no one in this entire world that has the kind of thumb control you do, you've put in your time, mastering all the intricate thumb movements, the strategies that go with every one of them, and all the minute differences that differentiate the winning thumbs from the losing ones! You're the Mohammed freakin' Bruce Lee of thumb warfare with your tactical thumb training, knowledge and experience. All hail King Sin Dizzy, the Thumb King!!

Hm. I have gold fighter with bronze, silver and a few gold moves. Very low chemistry, without any perks. Yet still I manage to have 4 W/L ratio when consistantly fighting against masters and beating them. Not ti be mean or anything, but you are just making excuses.

    With all the respect.

Yes they do work. Trust me. If somebody has Gold Tap out or even better Elite Tap out
and Elite Nightmare submission perks on and they get you in a submission...good luck getting out of it. The submission bars go super slow and his transition to the next step is quicker. And Elite Fluidity makes your combos faster than your opponent I like to use everything to win but like striking so I have an Elite Guard Specialist for super fast bottom transitions and a Gold Escape Artist to counter ground/submission players
