R.I.P. Ultimate Team Mode
So... UFC 4 will not feature UT mode. The mode had too small of a following and apparently it required too much time and effort with on-going upgrading. EA went cost cutting mode with eye for the casuals and nixed the only interesting mode for many of us.
This is it. The end for us my friends. It was good run starting from UFC 2 ending here with UFC 3. 4 years or something along those lines... Sad day.

1. Can't create my own fighter, height and weight, have to get lucky to actually get a true CAF.
2. Limited moves and stats..
3. EA you had a good thing going, too bad it was mismanaged .
Lol, yeah. Cause Ea doesn't regularly f*** a good thing they have going huh. In the interest of microtransactions of course.....
In UT u could go ultra aggressive or be a patient "pick your spots" type of a guy... But it was harder. You could grapple on the ground but it was harder because of the high BOT SUBD stats. That is why I saw a lot of purely UT players make swift transition to be a good ranked player as they trained it in harder conditions...
Besides these three styles you could also do a lot more. Many players didnt have clinch high so you could actually use that to your advantage. You could mix the styles, flowing through aggressive in-your-face to patient pick-your-spots as your move set could be forged to be flexible to do anything you want. Or you could go "Ultimate Team Style" spin bender... Or just create your own style, have leg kicks mean more or go "clean boxing" or "UT Style Muay Thai"... And one style very effective was doing submissions, from top and bottom. Heck, if you wanted you could be bottom-only submission specialist with very dangerous move set! The variation of different playing styles was massive. I could name the guy I was fighting without knowing his name. So many guys had personal styles...
In ranked its all grey, grey, grey. Same old same, just few approaches to go with... Boring.
UFC 4 has new stuff in it for sure. But in the end it looks like you will not have the type of variety you had in Ultimate Team. Lets hope for best, but everything points that way. There will be dominant meta style or two and thats it. Sure there will be few new game modes, but they will be novelty acts compared to the only purposeful mode which will be Ranked...
It is a sad day for MMA gaming enthusiastics.
