Javelin Anti Cheat Killing NIC Mid Match
Connection gets killed minutes into a game on my PC.
Symptoms:
- RGB lights on keyboard flicker and change back to desktop default (I've only got some custom lighting on the keyboard, with some keys locked out in game mode, and custom DPI on my mouse. Nothing Else).
- Players start floating in air.
- A moment of silence then you get one of two messages "kicked for inactivity" or something like "no connection".
- If you immediately click the exit/quit option and look at your NIC connectivity, it is zero and disconnected.
- Once you get connectivity again, your NIC is in a bad state. Speed tests anywhere from 9 Mbps to 95 Mbps for MINUTES after the disconnect.
- Running speed tests from another computer or phone connected to the same network during this time are near gigabit both up and down.
- Checking the NIC properties shows that the gigabit NIC is set to 100 Mbps ONLY after Thanos snaps his bejeweled and gloved hand.
I have verified that this only occurs with BF6/Javelin Anti-Cheat. NOTHING ELSE causes this to be repeatable.
Things I have done to 'fix':
- Download and run the Javelin Anti Cheat repair/reinstall tool.
- Update BIOS and Windows Updates.
- Update any other firmware I could find that was out of date (mostly aRGB controller firmware). [This one stopped the winring0 antivirus alert every time BF6 was started].
- Repair and verify BF6.
NIC after event:
Link speed (Receive/Transmit): 100/100 (Mbps)
Manufacturer: Intel
Description: Intel(R) I211 Gigabit Network Connection
Driver version: 12.18.11.1
NIC after reboot:
Link speed (Receive/Transmit): 1000/1000 (Mbps)
Manufacturer: Intel
Description: Intel(R) I211 Gigabit Network Connection
Driver version: 12.18.11.1
Some other stats:
During the game the NIC is pulling down almost 600 Mbps and pushing nearly 200 Mbps.
Fix this please EA. This really got more prevalent in the last week or so. And quite frankly, I'm getting pissed at almost finishing "20 revives in a match" for support class when this happens.
