Make Firestorm Better Again!
I love Operation Firestorm. We all do. The original one from Battlefield 3 though. Because the current Firestorm map in Battlefield 6 has at least one huge flaw: The Redzone.
Back in the days, there always used to be fights and clashes on top of the mountain. That was hella fun.
When you get downed too often by some pesky snipers or camping tanks and AA's, you could've just take the next jeep from objective E and get up there to deal with them!
This is not possible anymore in Battlefield 6. And this is a huge issue. Let me explain:
- Snipers, Javelin squads, Tanks and AA's camp on mass on top of the hill and dominate over the whole map. You can't do anything against that, unless you are one of the two jets and be lucky not to get shoot down before you kill one third of the enemy team camping up there.
- You, as the opposing team, can not get near the top of the hill. It is simply a red zone which makes any counter attack impossible. When shooting the pesky mountain tanks from objective E as a tank yourself, they can just simply reverse, hide, repair and get back to dominate over you and the whole map. Incredibly frustrating. (In my recent match, there were 2 tanks, one IFV and some Javelins shooting from top of the mountain at once)
- And of course, the fight about who owns the mountain is no more.
This was always a significant part of Firestorm.
The enemy team has a significant advantage with having the mountain for themselves.
Now you think, that might be a rare occasion. It is not. Almost every firestorm match I've encountered had people camping in squads as mentioned above, making this map unbearable for me as a former BF3 Firestorm vet.
Please, DICE, make Firestorm better again!
PS: The redzone is a problem for smaller game modes as well, in domination the redzone begins just 2 meters next to the road of the buildings, this gets you killed often when running away from getting shot at. But this is just a tiny flaw compared to the big game modes.
