When playing Conquest at night (North America), I often end up in 24v24 lobbies instead of the normal 32v32, with nearly half the server made up of bots. This is a AAA game with plenty of players, so why are matches staying half-filled with AI?
Using bots at the start to reduce queue times makes sense, but in my experience they stay for the entire match. Once the game begins, very few new players join, so the server never fills up. Even when bots do get replaced by players, the match still stays around 24 vs 24 instead of filling to 32 vs 32, which makes the whole system feel broken. Sometimes near the end of a round it gets even worse and only one team still has bots, creating an unfair match.
The result is slow, empty-feeling matches. Bots love sitting 6 in a tank and cruising around the map, which drags the pace down. On a 24-player team, 6 bots in tanks leave 18 on foot. If 2 of those are bots too, that means only 16 real players are actually fighting and capturing objectives.
In a mode meant to be 32 vs 32, that effectively becomes 16 real players vs 16, turning what should be fast and intense battles into slow and frustrating rounds.
This is not just a North America problem. Players in Asia, Australia, South America and other regions are experiencing the same thing. Many players have already quit because of this issue. Fixing it would help save the playerbase and keep the game alive longer.
Please fix the backfill system or rethink how bots are handled.
