Mounting rifle disables magwell reload-aiming

Mounting your rifle (with flared magwell attachment) on a surface removes the magwell functionality from your weapon until respawning. So you can not aim while reloading after you have mounted your weapon once. As mounting your weapon enables and disables this functionality dynamically, is there a check that has been forgotten to add for the attachment?
