Persistent orange dots class loadouts

Oh crap this worked..... Doesn't excuse the fact that EA hasn't fixed this correctly on their end but at least my OCD has a solution for now!

bubban71​ There are many ways to get it solved, but there hasn't been an update to the game itself that resolved the underlying issue. Most steps are in the pinned message or from other players. There are a few videos you can see on it in the thread.

yup still got the orange dot problem 

I have the exact same issue. Using Steam on PC. Anyone come up with a solution yet?

Still an issue, even after the Season 3 update. This is unacceptable, EA. Please fix it. In addition to fixing the orange dots appearing even when there's nothing new, add a "Clear All" button as a quality-of-life feature.

I'll even be super nice and provide a screenshot showing the beautiful, totally not annoying, orange dots on my L85A3 primary. Then, in addition, I'll provide a screen recordingshowing every single possible page where there could be a "new item".

Koala0nFire​ Hey, I am following up on the thread, and updating the feedback, so I wanted to confirm, you have tried the following, and probably more, and there is still no change?

• Check scopes/camos/charms/stickers
• Restart the game after a repair, and the profsave file deletion
• Use the favorite-weapon trick
• Test the EA app vs Steam if you can

While this does work for weapons, it unfortunately leaves no way of clearing orange dots from the Icon section of the Profile tab. For me, a permanent orange dots shows on the tab, but not on any of the icons.

I figured it out! Here's what worked for me:

1. Add the affected guns to your favorites
2. Quit the game
3. Boot the game back up
4. Select a class (Assault, Engineer, Support, Recon. It doesn't matter what class you choose)
5. Select the type of gun you want to swap (primary or secondary)
6. From the 'Select Primary Weapon' or 'Select Secondary Weapon' screen go into your favorites
7. Hover your cursor over the affected guns that are in your favorites. The dot should remove itself
8. Remove affected guns from your favorites 
9. Play more Battlefield

Yeah this is unfortunate because the favorite/unfavorite thing worked for me for about 2 days and then after new items were unlocked I wasn't able to clear the dot no matter what I did. 

Shout out to GhostGaming for discussing the favorite/unfavorite workaround in the first place.  Not sure who actually discovered it. 

Please fix. That favorite/un-favorite workaround doesn't work for everything and shouldn't be the solution for this post.

The fun part of playing Battlefield is to unlock new stuff but this bug ruins it, because it's hard to spot what you've actually unlocked.

5 months ago and we still have this issue :(

New button "Mark all as seen" would really help. Just a small change. Or dont need the orange dot for new stuff.  Remove it please.

I have the same bug since weeks. No new icon in the list, but I have the orange dot. Tried to close and re-open the game, tried uninstalling it and re-installing it - didn't help...

Yes, I had that with one of them last night as well, where it wouldn't go away until I restarted the game (the return of an older bug). Really, we need a button to clear everything so we don't need to check through multiple menus. 

Just add "Clear all" or "Read all" button

This worked for one weapon, but not another.
