SLM-93A lock on failure

So often, from my repeated experience, I will be locked onto an aircraft, watch it flare, wait for the flares to disappear, relock on, then fire. If the aircraft is roughly in the same direction as where the flares used to be, even though they’re no longer visible and no other aircraft has flared, the rocket will fly straight, not locking onto the aircraft, as if the flares are still there. This happens fairly consistently and occurs multiple times per game.

You can see in the videos it seems like a common problem with multiple people having the issue. I believe the flare effect lasts longer than visual animation for a extra second or two.
