Dirty air and slipstream

It’s very hard to overtake with little to no slip stream. Dirty air is too powerful and in high speed tracks like Silverstone it’s almost impossible to overtake.

When are you finally going to fix this issue that is destroying league racing? The dirty air is very powerful and increases the closer you get to the car ahead, meanwhile the slipstream when you are 6 thenths behind another car is the same as when you are 1 tenth behind. This makes overtaking almost impossible and the game becomes very frustrating. But knowing EA they will probably only fix it for f1 esports and f1 26...

i back this alot, U can be sniffing the rear of the car behind and you just wont be gaining at all the dirty air is criminal on some tracks, U just cant overtake whilst in dirty air just makes the game less enjoyable

  • Straight to the point, Honestly it’s so frustrating for competitive players and league racing to have absolutely zero slipstream advantage. The issue have been so clear to everyone in the community and the only conclusion we can take is that EA F1 25 are certainly just ignoring the whole community in which the game is supposed to (supposed) satisfy and clearly with such basic issue that in first place it should not exist, we still suffer from it… I can say that many people and maybe majority don’t mind dirty air but if there is dirty air and it’s powerful enough… slipstreaming should be even a powerful overtaking tool and counter the dirty air time lose… PLEASE PLEASE FIX THE SLIPSTREAMING MODEL AND MAKE THE CAR THAT FOR EXAMPLE: 2 TENTH BEHIND GAIN ACTUALLY TO THE CAR AHEAD MORE THAN WHAT THE CAR AHEAD GAINS FROM A CAR THAT IS NEARLY A SECOND FURTHER!!!!    The closer the car is to the car ahead the greater the slipstream should get and not equal to every car with different deltas… Fix it this issue asap bcz it’s inconvenient to wait for next years game bcz it’s a totally different regulations based and no one knows how it’ll go ….. FIX THE ISSUE EA PLEASE !!!

I couldn’t be asked to write a full essay but ur 100% right. This vent was probably what’s on every single competitive players mind. To win you need at least 6-7 tenths better pace. Or stick it in pole and execute well. You aren’t rewarded for good pace. It’s unfortunate how ea will be ignoring this issue for this game cycle.  I refuse to believe they will try to even fix it. But it is what it is. I think atp we all are very very desperate because racing is passion and there is no point if u can’t overtake.

Like literally everyone including e-sport drivers are MAD about Slip stream to dirty air ratio.. cant you just FIX that? i mean you make very playable edition this year and F it up by getting that ratio so bad.. please for a love of god, FIX IT, so we can race...

  • In races within a second of the pace of F1 Sim Racing drivers, I’ve seen various complaints about the slipstream to dirty air ratio as it absolutely kills racing. However this is not the only issue with slipstream. Currently, when behind another car, you get the same level of slipstream whether you’re a tenth back or 9 tenths back. This means that, even with significant tyre advantage, on most tracks all the car ahead of you needs to do is stay in the drs of the car ahead of them to keep position, because it’s so easy to save battery. If slipstream was made more powerful the closer you are to the car ahead, i believe this would massively help the enjoyment of racing (as well as tweaking the ratio of this to dirty air). clear Evidence of this: https://www.twitch.tv/jarnoopmeer/clip/AbrasiveBitterRaccoonLeeroyJenkins-EqLLJlkTCakQEjH5. In this clip it is clear that despite being less than 2 tenths behind, with the Ferrari ahead of him over half a second behind his teammate, Jarno has basically the same level of slipstream as the Ferrari which means that despite a huge tyre advantage he cannot overtake the Ferrari.
