F1 25 mid-session crash in Career Mode after recent update (7th September)

I’m having the same problem

I’m having the exact same issue. It happens both when I try to continue my F1 25 career and my 2026 season career.

Everything was working perfectly fine before the latest update, and the crashes only started happening after it. I’m playing the Steam version of the game.

Most of the time the game crashes when I try to load or continue the career. However, I also sometimes get a crash before the game even starts. In that case, the launcher displays the message: “An unexpected game shutdown was detected” with error code 0xFFFFFFFF

Having the same issue on Xbox Series X, both F1 25, and F1 26 Driver Career save load causes crash.

I’m having this issue too on the PlayStation 5, both of my career mode saves from 25 and 26 go through the loading screen and then once the black screen hits, the game crashes.  

Was working fine yesterday, now it’s not.

Same issue on ps5. Can’t load the 2026 MyTeam season on the F1 25 game.  I just updated the new patch about 10 min ago. It literally broke the game since that’s all I play. I’ve tried multiple times. I will try to load the save and it gets to where it’s about to ready to play, then the whole game crashes.

It’s clear that this update wasn’t tested before releasing… because like, what?? This wouldn’t happen otherwise. This is a basic issue that should be tested, to make sure everything else still works once updated.

Same problem for me too, I load up but when it seems like it’s about to load, it crashes back to desktop . All fine until the update
