Game crashing during online lobbies

In my league, several drivers on both PC and console have experienced their games crashing, mainly when moving between sessions, such as from qualifying to the race.

At first, we thought the formation lap might be causing the issue because drivers often crashed as it began. However, it has also happened when the formation lap is disabled and the race starts immediately.

We do not really understand what is causing it. It has happened with different people hosting the lobby, so it does not appear to be related to one host or their connection.

Has anyone else experienced these issues?

To look further into this issue I have investigated other leagues, in particular I have looked at the creator series as all of their streams are publicly available a long time after the event.

Pretty much every single race, someone has a game crash as the formation lap starts or as the 5 lights come on. There has to be an inherent issue within the game for this to keep happening to so many people.
My game has crashed as the spectator and I have tried to look into the Windows Event Viewer but cannot see any error to do with the issue, there is nothing in any logs of the game I can find that suggests the reason. The game just closes.
