Same problem here, PS4. Was evolving Future Stars Jónsdóttir with Training Camp In on Goal. Was activating other player evolutions on my console and Jónsdóttir became inactive and unable to reactivate on FC companion app with same message others have had "An unexpected error occurred. Please try again."
This evolution and player cost coins, so if it doesn't work I would expect compensation if the player is unusable.
