EA Music Player Overrides Settings and Forces "Music Always On" During Gameplay

Audio Bug: EA Music Player Overrides Settings and Forces "Music Always On" During Gameplay

Summary:

The integrated EA Music Player frequently ignores user audio preferences and forces background soundtrack playback during matches, even when the "Music Always On" / "Play Music During Matches" setting is explicitly disabled in the options menu.

Observed Behavior:

  • Unsolicited In-Match Playback: Despite having music disabled during gameplay, tracks trigger automatically at kickoff or post-halftime transitions.
  • State Desynchronization: Checking settings shows the option toggled to Off, yet the audio pipeline continues to stream soundtrack audio over match commentary and crowd atmosphere.

Impact:

Severely compromises gameplay immersion, obscures critical sound effects, and poses serious DMCA/copyright risks for content creators and streamers.

Proposed Fix:

Enforce strict state checks on the background music player to ensure match audio states completely terminate soundtrack streaming when the user preference is set to disabled.

This has been there for a whole year at FC26, and hasn't been adressed.

During rush for example, the pitch player talks and chants can not be heard. You need to open the audio menu, enable and disable the music always on, where the option was already disabled, you need to switch it on and back off for it to actually work every single game.
