I have the same issue. Cleary QA focus is to test the new fix they implement with each update and they don't look if the update breaks anything else...
The "improvement" apparently broke the menu Lag and now the whole thing is unplayable...
I have two suggestions at this point for EA, either allow-us to roll-back the patches to a prior, more stable version, OR maybe try some regression testing before releasing a patch...
