Critical Low Memory Error
Critical low memory error: Right at the beginning when you see the skateboard floating on the pedestal it crashes with that error. When I skipped that scene and it put me at the top of whatever quarter pipe or hill or whatever comes next, it crashed after a few seconds with the same error. Made sure everything is updated (graphics, cpu, etc). Attempted this multiple times and when I was looking at the resource monitor thingy everything was fine and normal for the memory. But one of the times when it crashed and I looked at the performance tab in task manager, there was a huge spike on the GPU graph. This didn't happen any other time. The game was installed on my HDD. I verified the game integrity, and there were 3 files that failed to validate that were then reacquired. This didn't fix the issue, so I uninstalled and reinstalled the game on my SSD. Problem persists.
I am now going to try again as I am writing this. I verified the files again. 3 files failed to validate again and were reacquired. Settings all the lowest they can go. Tried upscaling method XeSS ultra performance, crash. Verify files, 3 failed. FSR performance, crash. Verify, 3 fail. None and off, still crashes. Verify, 3 fail. Fullscreen it crashes. Verify, 3 fail. Try again, Borderless Fullscreen crashes. Verify game files, 3 fail to validate. Try again, freezes before it can fully load in; I see the compass at the top of the screen, clouds in the sky, mountains or hills in the distance, everything else is whiteish blueish. Still able to access the hub and setting menu, exiting from those back into the game, the hills and clouds are gone, just the compass at the top and blue with a lot of static (I think the static is from the low graphics settings because when I lowered the graphics settings that became a thing). Switch to windowed mode, nothing changes. Wait a few minutes, it actually loads in wow. I run and climb to the purple circle, game freezes. Wait a few minutes, can still hear the music for a short bit and then it's just the ambient wind, game seems to unfreeze for a second before freezing again and crashing. Try again, hill freeze frame again, switch back to borderless fullscreen, blue static. Fiddle with buttons, open skatepedia, go back and now the screen is white with some faint clouds at the top and of course the compass is there. Although the compass normally points North, now is pointing east. Wait 5-10 minutes I got distracted so no specific time and it loads wow. Go to purple circle, freezes, still hear the sounds, can't use the hub or settings menu. After a few minutes, sound stops and like 10 seconds later it crashes.
I got focused on trying stuff, left out that I tried the different upscaling methods with the different fullscreen, windowed, etc. No change. One time the game crashed immediately after successfully loading in and trying to move. I should also mention that the game takes a few minutes to load on both the SSD and HDD before even getting into the freezing and crashing. Restarted computer a few times throughout the process, including when I originally made sure everything is up to date.
I'm done now so im gonna just leave this here and try again in a few days, hopefully it gets fixed.
