Same here. I tried to replicate the issue and the solution. Somehow, I managed to fix it permanently but Im not sure if it work for your case though.
Here's what I did;
- Set your desired resolution (Eg. 1920x1080)
- Do not press apply.
- Switch to "borderless fullscreen" then press apply.
- You'll notice the "apply" button is gone.
- Exit and restart the game to see if the changes is made.
There's another method but "this is a low chance rate";
- Set the resolution to 640x480 and apply.
- Change it to 1920x1080 but press cancel instead. It will visually revert back to the lowest resolution. (640x480)
- Select 1920x1080 again BUT switch to "borderless fullscreen" instead.
- Press apply.
- You'll notice the "apply" button is gone.
- Exit and restart the game to see if the changes is made.
Hope this solve this issue for you or anyone facing it.
After that, I dont dare to touch or change any settings ever again.
