#1 skate. player here. 3000 hours + thousands of dollars spent and here is my opinion: removing the speed glitch was the worst thing you could've done for the game overall. It was essential to the "flow" of the game and now it feels very stale I'm not gonna lie. While the physics still feel fluid and amazing.... I still highly recommend you put the speed glitch back into the game because i don't think a *decent* portion of skate players deserve to be screwed over mainly because our kind make the game look and feel way cooler. #tricklinerslivesmatter

Most are okay with the glitches existing outside of multiplayer battles or challenges. And I completely understand where you're coming from. Sometimes a glitch can be fun to play around with.
But with the introduction of more matchmaking battles. It is a large issue, and the removal of usage there should be the focus. This isn't THPS, it's not about spamming things to get points or taking advantage of a fault in the physics/points system. It's about skating with real flow in a somewhat realistic experience.
Again, outside of multiplayer I'd say it's completely fine, creative, and fun for those who enjoy it. But to call glitches essential to 'flow' is a misunderstanding of what the game stands for.

explain to me since when has the skate franchise ever been a “realistic”game?

i understand that with more competitive modes coming out, they want to squash as much game breaking bugs as possible. but as someone who's played every day since launch, gaining speed through reverting (the main speed glitch im focused on) felt very natural and made the game feel more fun in a way because the physics make sense, if that makes any sense? When i would successfully gain speed after a perfectly timed revert, it felt right to me and didn't feel game breaking at all. Even non trickliners or realistic skaters were using it even if they weren't intending to and i truly don't know how they came to the conclusion to completely remove it from the game. I feel like they could just use some type of universal settings that everyone in the game mode uses that eliminates the use of glitches but doesn't completely remove them from the entire game. I free skate more than playing the game modes and while i'm glad more modes are coming out, i think the decision to remove the speed glitch to appease the "normies" is a mistake. it really did "feel" like a part of the game and it's basically a trickliner's bread and butter and im just getting the feeling they're trying to get rid of the very thing that made the game "feel" fun in the first place. just my opinion though.

I said 'somewhat realistic,' meaning it's a blend between THPS and a more simulator focus like Session. Since 2007, it has held that mantle. Even OP mentioned how the physics still feel fluid and amazing. That is what the game is about, not glitching high scores in competitive play.
If you're playing with a party and want to use them outside of competitive play, that's fine. But competitive play cannot allow for that focus.

Tipseh That's super fair, and again, I don't want to come off as anti-glitch completely. I do feel that the creativity it provides is fun for those who enjoy it.
I am only referring to the competitive modes when I say they shouldn't exist. As you mentioned, outside of competition it would be rad to have a toggle to enable prior patches, but that does seem difficult from a dev perspective.

now what speed glitch are you referring to? the revert speed glitch? if so that was a terrible bug that plagued this game since day one that myself and a huge portion of the community are happy its gone not because other players were using it but because it was happening to us constantly by accident.

Exactly! I don't think it would be difficult at all to separate how the physics work between free skate and competitive game modes. (they highkey already do it for ANY challenges you do around the map) I just think taking it out of the game completely is such a bad move.... also i feel like anyone else who's a trickliner or has used the revert speed glitch in their lines would completely understand where i'm coming from. being in the minority as a trickliner it already feels like a losing battle... but i feel like my opinion matters as ive put MANY hours into the game, im very used to the "feel" of how things are and dang.... them taking out revert speed glitch feels so bad and sluggish to me

like i said, i've played every day since launch. thousands of hours. talking and playing with hundreds of people and i can confidently say that ABSOLUTELY nobody complained about the revert speed glitch. Thats the only reason i'm on the forums now tbh because the decision to remove that specific speed glitch seems out of the blue and unwarranted

Your opinion absolutely matters! While we as players may disagree on some things, it's important to have the discussion for the betterment of all.
Each player's opinion is important. It's a wonderful access point for the devs to feel out where issues reside and can come to a conclusion based on player feedback. It's less about winning or losing and more about that conversational aspect.
