Off Grid Living: Can't adopt pet from phone

I am not able to adopt a dog through the phone while off the grid.

I have a power surplus and I am able to click on the option to adopt, the pop-up menu for adoption appears, I click to adopt a dog, the pop-up menu goes away. But nothing happens.

I have had this problem for some time (sadly enough years), is there a fix for this?

I know I can work around it with adopting strays, but it would be nice if this function works :).

This also affects the Rescue and Buy horse options under Call Ranch Hand. The interaction just drops out of the queue.

I have the same problem. I have to go into build/buy mode and temporarily go back on the grid to adopt a cat/dog. The same happens with horses on the board from horse ranch, but I can get mini sheep and mini goats immediately via the horse ranch board.
