Hi there, have you tried clearing your game's cache files and repairing the game in the EA app to see if it helps?
It could be a new bug, the game is full of them right now, but here's something you can try to see if it fixes the issue.
Step 1: Backup your Sims 4 folder.
This is very important! Copy it and put it somewhere safe or set the copy aside on your desktop. If anything goes wrong, you can just swap it back in.
Step 2: Delete the cache and temporary files. These files will regenerate when you next start up your game. The files you can safely delete are:
localthumbcache
localsimtextures
avatarcache
everything in the cache folder
the spotlight file in the cachestr folder
everything in the onlinethumbnailcache folder
any lastexception files (you may or may not have them)
any crash files (you may or may not have them)
Step 3: Go into the EA app and repair your game.
Go to your Library in your EA app and click on the dropdown menu on your Sims 4 game and select "repair".
Step 4: Restart your game and make a new save file, than try to recreate the problem in your new save file.
This will let you know if the issue has been resolved. If the issue remains in the new save, it's a bug. If there is no issue in the new save, then go back to the original save file where the problem began and see if the issue is fixed. If it is not, it could be a corrupted save file.
I hope this helps.
