Did any of you try queuing an action after you used the view option? I used the museum in Willow Creek and the view action on the knight statue. I thought my sim was stuck since it was taking a long time, more so than looking at something at the museum usually does and there was no progress circle. So, I queued my sim to go pee and then the view action and task completed when the next action dropped.

I was having issues, too, until I went to Municipal Muses in Willow Creek and had my sim view the painting, "The Intrepid" on the second floor. I had her view a couple things at the museum in Brindleton Bay first, but it didn't count it for some reason.

Same issue here too!
Playing on Xbox currently.
Expansions: Parenthood, Seasons, For Rent, Dine Out, Get to Work, and Island Living.
Stuff & Kits: Toddler, Spooky, Little Campers, Kids Room, Movie Hangout, First Fits, Blooming Rooms, and Tiny Living.
Also help! I have no museum!
My museum loaded basically bare when I started this new 'campaign', and I didn't use it for literally years until I finally downloaded Dine Out a few weeks ago; I turned it into a restaurant! Now I can't progress!!
I don't have really any lots open or big enough to place a new museum, unless I evict a family...

"View" didn't check off the task. As Trowicia said though, once I bought specifically "The Enduring" table and placed it in a museum, then put the "On The Hunt" statuette on top of it (the museum I was at already had one, so I moved it), the quest checked off.
I did try and view the statue earlier, but it didn't work until it was placed on that specific table. - gnocchidoki16 days agoNew Spectator
I had the same issue. I selected "View" on every item in a few different museums. On the 3rd museum, (in Del Sol Valley), one random item fulfilled the quest. I didn't catch which item fulfilled it, but it was about 40 tries in and the 3rd museum visited.
I'm not sure if that's an intentional RNG feature or if that was due to the bug. But at the very least, the "Historical Display" option is not shown as it should according to the quest log. - crawler121816 days agoSeasoned Rookie

Same issue. Tried placing museum items. Tried view multiple times on paintings and statues. Tried multiple museums. Tried with mod mods.
Cannot get it to complete

Had the exact same issue and it worked for me on a normal sculpture. It is actually the "View" button but if it doesn't work on an art photo, try a sculpture in a table. I did the museum in willow creek and got it to work. They do have to stand there and view it a bit for it to track it.
