I'd like to report some things on this for crinrict and EA_Cade after play testing for a couple hours last night to help get resolve... scroll for a summary if you'd like...
Troubleshooting/play testing the retail can't purchase / spawn employees glitch I found that is all corrected after 3/6/25 patch, ironically... so I'm back to this thread because clearly these things were related, but not directly.
That led me to start testing the panel bug a bit further and bought back one of my businesses with one of my households I had sold off as a workaround (important strip mall in my game)... then changed households, went back to see if it worked as a visiting Sim and it did work. Returning to the household that owns the business, a big surprise... the business still showed as owned in the panel as this was not the case before as changing households would remove the property from the panel list. I found the residential rental lots to be listed again, but not retail lots owned prior to this bug spreading.
Testing further... I switched to non retail owners and and retail owners apartment owners all the things to see if I could get the bug to show up but each time their business was there... so it looks like Residential Rentals, and new retail lots remain... BUT - selling off your stores and buying them back you loose your employees and hard work. I have over a dozen fully trained staffed retail businesses in my game.
Here is a current summary....
- Residential Rentals automatically show up correctly now in the Business Lot Panel since yesterdays patch. I checked the ones I knew were not showing up.
- Businesses bought since this patch remain in the panel even when switching to multiple lot types like r-rentals, other households with retails. I only play tested one several times to see if I could "trigger it". Seems not there.
- Businesses that were affected and disappeared from the panel prior to this patch still don't show (that said tested household owned two, one of which I sold off to be able to use in game) - but repurchasing the old one I sold off, remains in the panel.
- OWNED restaurants still don't show up in the panel, and when you visit them these things happen...
- The menu is not the one created with the owned household when visiting as a guest
- The restaurant doesn't work properly because the Chefs stand outside the kitchen with route failures because the game doesn't consider them employees who can pass through (which has never been a thing)
- I need to verify this but I'm positive from testing months ago that if you visit the owned restaurants as an owner you have no control of anyone or anything. it's like your a guest, but the lot shows as owned by household in map view.
It's odd it's not listed... but again I really suspect it was a weird call in data glitch on the UI and whatever they did for B&H coding, must have just automatically reset whatever it was. All this reporting and play testing reminds me of Sims 2 days lol I did a lot of that then but it was also a lot easier to report your findings with the bug submission form. So please I hope this gets to the right folks.
I really hope this helps. I will continue to update the thread as I figure out more things. Right now it just looks like the team just needs to figure out how to get us our retail lots showing again without selling off and loosing our employees and progress.
Very well detailed and I can corroborate your findings… I would like to add that I tested selling and purchasing my retails lots and it worked, only certain perks previously purchased are bugged now. I had purchased previously the perk to get one more employee, making it to two employees. Only after repurchasing the retail, I cannot hire two employees like before… but the perk is displayed as purchased…
I also purchased the other adding employees perk and it did work for one more but instead of being able to hire 3 employees, I can only hire two… despite both perks being purchased…
other perks previously purchased are working though.
