Can't move into furnished homes

Mac, last official update, no modes

After all adult sims in a household died of old age, their child was moved to the "Not in world" household. When I merged the child with an adult sim and tried to move them bakc into the same house, the "Furnished" option was greyed out. The house appears to be unoccupied, but lights and fireplace are still lives there - the lot is visually still in a ''live" state. Also the price of the house on the map is much lower than it would be in a furnished state.

Imagine my surprise as I played today and ran into the same situation at the very same apartment as in my report that is archived.  Fortunately, the same workaround shown in the thread still fixed the furnished rental issue so I could move sims in.  :)

Thank you for pointing to this thread in that archived report so I was able to find it and upvote the issue.  I wasn't having any luck searching for a more current thread on my own.  Maybe you could put homes/apartments in the subject line?  I was using apartment when searching.  I also checked the compiled list but I was looking under City Living, not thinking it's a broader issue than just apartments.

I'm going to leave it for now as it matches the old title. Homes does include all residential lot types in my eyes

    Hi again crinrict

Okay, I always want you to do what is easiest for you in keeping up with the list of issues and technically, you are correct with your view of homes for sims.

Have you seen this spill over at all in R-rentals?  I can see the potential for this to create real problems with them, if the game suddenly gives a 0 value to furnishings due to the death of an unplayed property owner.  Everything from the inability to buy/sell the building to just not being able to move sims into units or collect rent from units.

This isn't going to be encountered often and from the lack of upvotes I can see why it wouldn't have a high priority for a fix.  I'm just not sure it couldn't have far more reaching consequences, especially where FR is concerned.
