my chess table in the library also stopped working. I noticed it on a new year's eve day. As it is an (holiday) event, I also assumed it is connected. Same thing, "Sim doesn't have permission to use this object". However next day I checked (there was no active event) and chess tables was still bugged. I checked 2 libraries, and couldn't play chess in neither of them. In the park playing chess is working as usual. So my assumption that it is still somehow connected to lots, in my case libraries, but maybe small businesses as well
