[CD] Cant adopt pets

On pc - no mods or cc

This is also happening to me, I can't adopt them thru my household or by finding a stray, I click adopt and my sim will either just hold them for hours and it won't complete or they will pick up the animal and immediately set them down and the action won't complete, playing on xbox and this was working before May 12th

I am having the same issue after the update playing on PC with no mods. When I finally gave up and added the cat to the household using cntrl+right click to add to family, the up for adoption message above their name never went away, and sim doesn't have the option to show off the pet. Not sure if I have the option to reprimand as the cat has not misbehaved yet.

Same thing happening to me! I can't adopt a pet through the household menu or by befriending a stray. When I click adopt, my sim will pick up the animal and then just stand there until the sim is reset (cannot cancel interaction). The same thing occurs when trying to Hug/Feel the Love, I believe anything that requires you to pick up the animal. 

My solution for the time-being (if you use mods): via MCCC on the animal -> Sim Commands -> Pet Adoption -> Your Sim.

This will add the animal to your household as an adopted pet. However, I also did experience the glitch of not being able to train/lecture them. 

My solution for the time-being (if you use mods): Modify the household in CAS -> edit something so you can save the household again -> once you enter live mode again, you should be able to lecture.
