[CD] [HR] Pets stays awake all night, collapse several times

This has been an issue for the longest time, but I never see animals use their peds to fully sleep. They'll walk to them to lay around, but sleep is something I never see, ever. This has got to be an issue because even during testing the pets pass out straight up on the floor instead of noticing their need and going to sleep. Or they'll notice their sleep need and then go nap anywhere on the floor or on a human bed, but not a designated pet bed. I know there are traits that contribute to sleep preference but I tested multiple different traits and no difference was made. Unless it's like traits like free spirit for horses that specifically makes them more prone to sleeping outdoors.

  • It's true, they jump onto the pet bed do a little settling down circling then jump straight off it and walk around the house all night, I've tried the "lay here" command that is selectable when clicking on the pet bed from my sim it works for all of two seconds then the dog is up again. I've tried placing the pet bed in a wider space so all four sides of the bed have adequate interaction room and tried with all available large pet beds but still nope, dog just doesn't want to know. Never had this problem with any cats I've had in saves.

PS4 no mods, CC, or in game cheats.

    What happens:

    1. Dog stands on the same spot for hours until it passes out.
    2. After passing out, the dog wakes up and continues to stand on the spot until it passes out again.
    3. This happens usually when sims are asleep and the only one awake is the dog. Instead of sleeping, the dog just stands on the spot until it passes out.

It does not happen all the time, but it happens occasionally to all dogs of differing traits, even to a dog that has the couch potato trait.

    What I observed:

    1. The dog usually asks to be taken for a walk on a regular basis, regardless of the dog traits (even on a couch potato dog).
    2. The dog will ask to be taken for a walk even when the sim is asleep. The dog usually wakes up the sim to ask for a walk.
    3. When I trained out the "no waking up" interaction, the dog just stands on the same spot until it passes out, only to wake up until it passes out again.

    What I tried:

    1. Reset object - debug on the dog
    2. New save
    3. Dogs with different traits
    4. Repair game

Happens on my Win 11 PC. Never used CC/mods. I regularly clean the EA folder. I have access to only a handful of EPs. Hope this gets investigated.

  • ngl this bug stresses me out every time i see it for two reasons
one - no dog EVER passes out from exhaustion like this. period.
two - the last time i saw a dog do this was MY dog before i took him to the vet and had to put him down.

If I may offer a suggestion (since it's sometimes easier to add overrides rather than digging into layers of old code), dogs should be forced to properly sleep at a certain time of night, not dissimilar to the curfew board that makes kids go to sleep at a certain time. Even if they don't stay asleep for too long, I think this would help
