I did try to look up this problem but the only result I found was a post from 8 years ago and it says solved so I decided to make a new post about it.
In my sims game yesterday I played with a cat in my household (I actually haven't played with pets in forever.) I went to get my cat neutured and when he was accepted in to be seen the vet just stood around doing the same action over and over.
I couldn't cancel the interaction because it said it was in progress. I couldn't leave the lot. I couldn't do anything. My sim literally got stuck there all day and so did my cat and the action never completed. I tried resetting the vet sim and the objects. I tried everything I could think of and even looked at solves for other people previously, and I could not get it to change.
The only way I could get out of it was quitting the game and then starting a whole new game.
I don't have any mods or cc. I repair my game often because unfortunately it needs it.
If you could also please fix every sim going through the trash and knocking it over constantly that would be great :)
I ran in the same situation, and none of the fixes I saw online and on other threads seemed to work. My best hope was to recover as save that lost me an hour of progress, but I'd rather lose that than the entire save.
