[CD] Walking the dog for hours and hours and hours

just to be sure, they walk all the time and not get stuck somewhere ? They just don't stop the walk like they're supposed to ?

Usually I find them just randomly stopped somewhere if they've been gone to long. I just never use long walk because it takes so long, I don't wait it out. When I do, they are still walking but for way more hours than is reasonable for a "sim day". 

I get this too on PS5. Recently it's been ok if you give your SIM a task at the home in their queue though. But if you don't they just leave for ages until both dog and sim are miserable.

It's like the SIM forgets it doesn't have to do it all day

I never use the walk interactions - they’re way too long. Even short walk if not cancelled will go until either the sim or dog crashes from low needs. I only ever use the go for jog, or get an independent dog that can walk itself. Mostly I just stick to cats.

I have this issue too and this issue is not a cause from the recent September update, it has been existing for a while ago. sim and pet went for a short walk but stop at a random point and remained standing at that point for a long time and then proceed to another random point and continue to stand there for a long period of time too, afterwards, sim and pet proceed to return home. Entire walking session for a short walk lasted 10mins in real time, it is way too long for a short walk. I hope this will get fix soon. 

Yes this has been happening for a while, maybe a year or so?  They will just continue on until you stop them. They won't come home and often also leave the dog somewhere. They also don't respond when I tell them to have the dog do it's business somewhere, they just stand there

I play with mods so take this with a grain of salt without any non-modded reports of the same issue, but for me, I notice the dog gets really far off path but the sim stays stuck. Last time it happened was in Henford. It almost seems to be related to the lakes / water spots?
