See title. With autonomy turned on Sims will stop doing user directed tasks to judge decor, sometimes on items across the lot. I just had a sim get up from the middle of a tattoo session to do so, causing the tattooer tpose and reset.

My sim wakes up all the time time to go and judge decor.
After sending a Sim to work, almost immediately a game dialog box appeared saying "Do you want to skip work?" When selecting a negative response, the Sim immediately returned from work and went to assess furniture.
The problem is observed not only with workday interruptions but also during various activities (eating, watching TV, repairing a toilet, etc.). Sometimes a Sim, for example while interacting with another Sim, will suddenly stop what they're doing and go to a random point in the house to "assess" a light fixture.

Yes, this is exactly what I mean. I think the work skipping happens for the same reason you described.
