[DU] Sim didn't receive presentation board/ Gone Missing

My sim put down the board outside class, worked on it for a bit, and then put it in his inventory and went to class. I saved and quit, and when I loaded, the board was missing. I have no idea where it went. It's odd that they can't just start over.
