Could you please turn off luck in your game settings and see if it makes a difference ?
I turned luck off and yes, that stopped the constant breaking. Glad there is a "fix" for it, BUT, a game feature should NOT be so infuriating that it needs to be turned off in order to play the game. Unacceptable

Did your Sim have the Sonic Sinus Ailment active when this happened?
No I am fairly sure the Sim did not. I don't think I have encountered this ailment yet.
