Had trouble getting the couple to perform vows at the arch. It says partner wasn’t near when they are both standing by the arch. Nothing was in the way. Had to restart game now for it to work?

Planned a wedding event and both engaged sims were there but when clicking on wedding arch, could not get married as it said the other sim was not around.
Ended the wedding event and tried a different lot, still didn't work.
Only way I found to get around it was to elope immediately.
