Eyeglasses look like sunglasses (Laptop Mode)

One of my sims has glasses and yesterday when I was playing, the lenses started to be solid gray in live mode. They are completely fine in CAS. I’m on a laptop and use laptop mode, when I turned it off the glasses were back to normal, but my game ran horribly so I had to turn it back on for things to be playable. I have lots of CC and mods, but this wasn’t an issue until yesterday. I was playing for a few hours yesterday, and she had glasses on for a couple of those hours, and they were totally normal. Laptop mode was on, CC and mods were active, but the glasses were fine. They randomly became gray in the middle of me playing, I didn’t close and reopen the game or change any settings or update anything. Confused as to what could be causing it since they were working fine on laptop mode before?

Interesting that this hasn't been an issue for you before and randomly appeared.

Black/Grey glasses have been an issue for years on laptop mode.

Yeah, that’s exactly why I’m confused, I’ve played on laptop mode for a couple of years now and this has never been a problem until now.

  • So weird, I also just suddenly started having this happen to me in the last few days too. I've been using laptop mode for ages and everything looked fine, but as I've been playing with the new B&H expansion one of the Sims (Erik Loden) aged up so I tried using the new glasses in the pack for him, and in CAS they're normal but in live mode they look like sunglasses. Same with basegame glasses too. :|

Makes me wonder if the old bug is being revived more because of some weirdness with the new EP…wouldn’t surprise me tbh

  • Yeah, I noticed this in the last year, as I was on laptop mode for a good while as I was inbetween gaming computers. Went into my screenshots folder to take a look and it's interesting that despite remembering noticing it and being really annoyed by it, I can only find one sim it was happening to. Certain glasses assets must be more prone to it than others? Cause I have multiple documented occasions of it only happening to one sim in a household that had 3 glasses wearing sims, and honestly, yeah, I do think it was only that sim.
