I have updated my game, the hot fix of March 18th, and my game still doesn't launch with cc installed. I still get the message "Failed to launch game" when cc is installed.

just about 20 hours later ( 5pm in NY) and still the game wont open. this has nothing to do with specfic custom content or mods, it seems to be any type of custom content or downloads into the game can make it crash and some will work and then stop working, this is a total sims team issue. I understand they are working on this, but it shouldnt even be happening. what wasnt broke didnt need fixing.
What worked for me - go offline in the EA app (I play in Steam) and then start the game. Game starts right away. With a full mods folder. Give it a try.
