Every time I open my game,, I am stuck on the Main Menu and it is entirely greyed out.
I still get the full screen pop-ups for advertisements, and the smaller pop-ups, but when I close the pop-ups, the screen remains greyed out and I cannot click on anything. I have tried clicking "Esc" button as well as maniacally clicking everywhere on the screen to try to find the secret hidden "X" or something...
The only way to get out of the greyed out main menu screen is to close the game entirely.
I play in Windowed Fullscreen mode on PC. I would try to see if this happens in full screen or windowed mode but I can't do more troubleshooting due to the greyed out screen.
i am also having this issue! repairing my game and relaunching has worked before, but the most recent time it did not so i'm not sure what to do. hoping a solution is found :(

Yep, loaded to build a cottage, closed the 1 million advertising pop ups to find, I can't play.

My game is doing this. Its started about a month ago or so. All day today my game stayed grayed out. I took all mods out that didnt help. I have cleared the cache that didnt help. Im not sure what else today.
This happens to me all the time on Mac. It drives me crazy. I have to launch with WiFi turned off to avoid it
guys idk if anyone is still having this problem but it was happening to me for months and I just found a mod for it. Get the SimMattically default main menu, with no ads and overlay glitch fix
