Game crashes when clicking on Sim in Legacy Family tree

I have a household I made before the family tree update based on the song "I'm My Own Grandpa" Essentially a guy marries and older woman and his dad marries that woman's adult daughter causing the guy to technically be his own step grandpa. Before the update the family tree had no problem showing this, though it did create a bit of a loop. However when I tried to look at their family tree today with the new pack and update the game immediately froze and never recovered. For testing I made a fresh new family with the same parameters, two young adult sims married to each other's single parent. The game had absolutely no issues and I was able to place them on a lot and play normally until I tried to open the family tree and the game once again locked up and could not recover. This is clearly the result of the new way the family tree is handled not being able to render this kind of looping structure. I know this example is an unconventional family structure, but there are a lot of ways a loop like this could happen over the course of a legacy save like the new pack and this updating is encouraging, especially when you factor in immortal occult sims like Vlad or Greg.
