Hello, similar issues for me, definitly something going on with the stairs.
It began with an error preventing me to put stairs, then i restarted my game, but it was messy because this error totaly crashed my PC... Then i was able to place stairs. But as i continued my construction, as soon as i was doing something with the stairs, or around them (ground, walls, handrail) my game crashed, nothing was possible anymore and sometimes it crashed my PC too... It happened at least 4 or 5 times since yesterday. I wasn't able to play more then 10 minutes today beacuse of that.
I play on PC, it is a specific save that i have since few months, haven't try on other saves cause i don't want to corrupt all my saves. I don't have LastCrash files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 but i have few lastException, the last one in date of the 27th of september 2025, but wasn't for stairs issue. Actually can't remember what happened on that date.
