Me too! After deleting several default royal/NPC families from the Manage Worlds screen, my save file has become completely unplayable. The game crashes consistently with a lastException error from MC Command Center :
Recommended Action No mods were listed in the exception but you do have mods installed. Close your game, try removing handfuls of mods from your Mods folder and retry what you did when you received the exception. If the exception does not occur then the problem is likely with that mod. Check the mod download for any recent updates. Possible Cause (Confidence: 10%) dynasty_tunings Reason Exception raised while processing zone spin up sequence: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'id' (AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'id')

I read your thread in gameplay issues and wondered if it was related to what I discovered. I did try deleting all the default nobles in a vanilla unmodded new game, and on a Mac the world is still playable, but glitched by the issue I reported here.
I did discover that if you evict the nobles from their homes before deleting them, the crown menu glitch can be avoided. But whatever is keeping them persistent could still be lurking under the hood.
Until we know more about this, it is probably wise to not delete nobles at all. I suppose killing them off is an option, if you just do not want them in your game.
But other than a very few sims the game requires to function, like in Henford on Bagely and Batuu, we have always been free to delete sims at will. So this situation is new and troubling.
Especially deleting the owner of the sword in the stone, which is a game buster. It is mandatory to return that sword into the stone before disposing of the owner in any way. And if you want the owner as someone other than the sim you play, make sure the game does not cull them.
