Gifts from various sources not owned/sellable/visible in collection

Ever since I purchased the Life and Death DLC, I've been having an issue where my sims get items as gifts from NPCs or through events like sticking their hands in a Netherworld Fissure and they cannot sell these items. When the items are placed in world, it states that my sim doesn't own these items. Now my sims personal inventory is bogged down with items they cant get rid of.

    I have this issue as well - it has been an issue since the DLC came out. This means I can't sell them on a selling table, etc. You can sell them in the Sim's inventory, but only by using Multiselect. Playing on PC with mods/CC, but have removed these and tested with multiple saves and mods/CC do not affect this issue.
