Houses/Lots Disappear

I cleared a lot of the house/landscaping it came with to build a new house.

I built said new house, saving periodically as I went.

Now that I logged back in, and wanted to keep working on it, it won't load my saved lot. It shows a picture of the new house from the world screen, but when I load it it loads the previous house I demolished.

I tried looking through other threads, but they don't seem to match my issue? 

I found my user/saves folder in my documents but I don't really know where to go from there.
