Sims hone skills for wrong age group when active Sim away

I have this problem too. It happens when they're left at home with another adult (so not technically at daycare). When they're stuck like that, their needs don't get taken care of. It's particularly annoying when a parent has an active career because I have to leave them like that for several hours, and their needs are tanked when my sim gets home.

batsandbabydolls​ FYI I did find a workaround for this, if you select the infant and "Bring Here", they'll show up on the lot, and then you can "Send Home" as a self-interaction. When you send them home this way, they'll Care for Self. 

I wonder if this specifically happens if the home lot has wellness equipment (i.e. yoga mats/meditation stools) and/or if the caretaker has high wellness skill. 

This workaround doesn't work for active careers, unfortunately. You can't bring other sims to the career lot.

This happens for me too on PS5. I've also noticed that adults sometimes show as "Honing Motor Skill" instead of an adult skill.

When one of my parent sims goes to work(he's an actor) one or both of his babies (twins)  are stuck on "hone wellness skill" and I have no option to switch it to "care for self" Their needs degrade very rapidly and by the time I get back, most of their needs are in the red. The mother sim has no issues and I am able to switch her to "care for self" not the babies though. I'm worried I'll get my babies taken away because of this glitch. 

I play on PS4. No mods ever. My packs are as follows:   Life & Death, Love struck, for rent, Parenthood, high school years, tiny living, cats and dogs, vampires, cottage living, Dream home decorator, jungle adventure, discovery University, seasons , snowy escape, get together, stranger ville, realm of magic, home chef hustle, crystal creations,Get famous, city living, get to work, Moschino, horse ranch, tiny living, luxury party, paranormal, perfect patio, spooky stuff, outdoor retreat, bowling night, kids room, laundry day, spa day, dine out, cool kitchen, romantic garden, vintage glamor .
