[LD] Ghost Essence not appearing in inventory

I'm also experiencing this. I can't complete a task cause ghost essence doesn't appear in my inventory...

Same here on PS5. It says I'm getting them but they aren't in my inventory so I can complete this task.

I am having this too. I have a family and one sim was a temporary ghost for a quest and using the 'Spooky Spectacle' ability got essence. But then I had another one die and become a ghost (spellcaster overcharge) and had her take the Solace Embrace and used that on her daughters, and nothing. So it's not failing ENTIRELY, but...

Hi! My problem was solved somehow. Maybe because I bought some new packs or because of the last updates. I just tried to complete the task again, and I acquired an essence in my inventory.

I see that other people still have this problem, so I think it makes sense not to close the topic.

I am coming back with an update that may help track down the issue. After I made my first post, i went into build mode, to do a bit of decorating. I noticed 3 debug objects in my family inventory. I deleted them. I think this is connected, because the next time i went to do a ghost interaction (the hug again) I got FOUR essences in my inventory all at once. So the game was keeping track, but for some reason i got debug objects in the family inventory the first 3 times, and only on the 4th try did they appear correctly in my inventory. 

It also took 4 tries before it appeared in my sims inventory, back to back interactions (all with in 4 in game hours with multiple sims). I was off my home lot so didn't check household inventory, all 4 essence showed at once and then additional essence showed immediately after interaction. I did more interactions than essence and got one extra notification than essence, alternating between 'Solar embrace' and 'dispel'.  Temporary ghost too if that's helpful.

I also have trouble getting the ghost essence in my inventory despite it saying that I should have it in my sims inventory. I checked both her own inventory and the family inventory in build and buy, but does not found the essence in neither of them.

Had this issue for ages but seems to be working now
