[LD] Heirlooms always make Sims angry

Wanted to add: Before the deceased Sim has moved on, the Sims viewing the heirloom still get a positive moodlet when they had a good relationship with the deceased Sim. So the bug starts when the deceased Sim moves on to Netherworld or Rebirths.

Hey crinrict , I just have a Macbook but another user reporting this in the original thread said they had a Playstation 5. So I thought I'd tag the PS as well. However I can remove the tag.

Yes, I’m the player on PS5 with this problem. It’s definitely still a problem. I just going to copy paste my reply from the other thread here. If anyone needs any other information, just ask.

I’ve been having this problem since the release of Life and Death. As soon as the ghost "moves on" in whatever manner they do … rebirth, fading away, being released to the Netherworld by another sim … the only moodlet any other sim will get from any heirloom is angry. Doesn’t matter if there’s a will or not. Doesn’t matter if an emotion was attached to the will, and if so which one. Doesn’t matter if the sim was well loved or hated, or if the sim thinking about the heirloom's owner ever even knew the dead sim.

It’s really frustrating, because it negates having heirlooms at all. For example, my plan had been to pass down my legacy family's wedding rings to each new generation, but as soon as those ghosts were gone? Can’t use the rings anymore unless I want the happy bride and groom angry all the time. After having been passed down 15 generations before the release of L&D, they just sit in the jewelry box now. I regret making them heirlooms.

And I play on PS5, so no mods or cc causing problems. The problem is with the coding for heirlooms. 

Addendum: I did forget to mention that it all does work fine while the sim who created the heirloom is still a ghost, whether they are a played ghost or free range unplayed. Other sims will have feelings about the heirloom's owner other than Dead to Me angry.

I'm having the same issue with a sim that moved to the Great Beyond. He and his wife had a great relationship, they were both "Deeply in Love" and while he was a ghost she got a positive moodlet (fond memories or something to that effect) but now that he's moved on she gets the Dead to Me angry moodlet.

I have a Sim who was going to marry and move into his wife's household, and I wanted him to have a particular painting made by his (still-living) Dad. So, before splitting the household, I had Dad make the painting into an Heirloom and then put it in Son's inventory. 

I start playing Son's new household and put up the painting... and suddenly all Son's inlaws-to-be are getting "Better Off Dead" moodlets! I noticed that none of them KNEW the Dad who'd made the heirloom.

So, during the wedding, I made sure all the inlaws talked to the Dad. The next day, I had them look at the painting to "Remember Original Owner"... and got the Fond Thoughts moodlet instead.

Keep in mind, THE ORIGINAL OWNER HAS BEEN ALIVE THIS ENTIRE TIME. The only difference was whether the Sims had him on their Relationship panel.
