Whenever I make a new Sim and start going on dates, after one (a single 1) successful date, the paramour breaks into my Sim’s home and proposes.
This happened four times today with a new Sim, after he went on a few dates with different Sims, both pre-made, from the gallery and a randomly generated townie. It has been happening since I got High-School Years, but it got worse after getting Lovestruck — romantic satisfaction and attraction turbocharges the relationship, so as soon as it fills up an autonomous proposal takes place. Of the four times it happened today, three were marriage proposals, and one was a romantic relationship proposal.
I can reliably reproduce this issue simply by
- creating a Sim,
- having them fill the romance bar with another Sim and
- go back home.
The other Sim will barge in (no knock on the door, they simply enter the house uninvited) and propose every single time.
This autonomous behavior seems a bit creepy, and having to turn them down destroys the relationship, making the live mode gameplay rather troublesome, since we have to fill the relationship bars just for them to get down again after a rejection.
The game should at least have an option to turn them down gently.
