Hi @crincrict
I managed to get back in my last save by loading into it from the list of saves. I tried it a couple times, the screen would freeze a few seconds after loading into the lot. I needed to force quit the game as it was just sounds and a frozen screen nothing to do. I also tried to play with random townies in that save, that worked perfectly. Until they would visit the lot I was using. I could reach the lot so it wasn't stuck on endless loading as before. One time the game just crashed.
I also tried to play from a recovery file of this save - I played a few days in game and it went very smooth so I thought maybe it's fixed... When I next tried to open the recovered save the screen froze almost instantly.
I noticed while testing the freeze is triggered by moving my camera angle. I also noticed I can prolong the inevitable freeze by going to other lots. I remember when the issues came in my big save they were also bound by lots. In the beginning I just kept switching to unaffected lots in the same save so I could keep playing.
I haven't been able to trigger a new LastException file being made only a LastCrash. I will upload the one from 17th of march in case it is useful. And I will keep trying to break the game and get a new last exception file.
other random things that happen: I get this pop up that there is a max of 200 notifications/notice board is full (I'm trying to translate this my game is not in English so I hope it makes sense). And in this last save my sims keep changing into swim wear. - I don't know if they are related to the game breaking issue but just in case.
Thank you for helping out!!

Is there any specific reason you're running such an old and out of date version of macOS? If you don't want to upgrade past Monterey you should at least update to the last version, 12.7.6 in System Settings. This may fix your issue. I would personally update to Sequoia, the current version as it has updated Metal drivers.

Not all people can or want to use other versions of macOS. Some people are using Big Sur for example and they can't upgrade.
The game should work, the computer meets the requirements.

Correct which is why I asked if there is a specific reason the OP is running Monterey however my reply is addressed just to the OP who has an M1 Pro which can run the current version of macOS, Sequoia.
The game should work, the computer meets the requirements. In an ideal world yes of course however improvements in OSs and further support often facilitate an improved experience. A 2012 MacBook Air meets the requirements to run the game but the gaming experience on such a machine is dreadful, to the point of not being able to run properly. There are improvements to Metal that Apple have made which are reflected in later versions of macOS. Not all tech support and advice is, and can be, as simple as you're stating.
