I've been experiencing this issue with neighboring houses showing as the lot defaults, but it stopped happening in one save file where I experimented with getting rid of all of my R-rental lots by converting them into other lot types. Once they were gone, I started seeing what was actually built on neighboring lots once again. (I'm not sure if the error went away before I'd completely removed all R-rental units; I'll probably try it again with another save and pay more attention to when it stops happening.)

This would be great if they didn't restrict Residential Rental lots to be selected individually and that you have to be active on the lot to actually change it. Regardless of what I do - Trying to replace it with a barren rental lot, moving sims out, visiting the lot, trying to go in the build mode - it simply won't work and the game fails or ends up in a looping loading screen. Also the fact that the lots are defaulted or empty when loaded happens too - exclusively in Willow Creek - other lots seem to be fine...I've tried literally everything and nothing worked - EA better investigate, it's infuriating with legacy saves.. 😪
