I solved the neighboring house's showing up as default issue when I unticked vertical sync in the graphic settings. I was having this issue in Strangerville. Now I know to play without vertical sync so the nice homes I downloaded will appear in live mode.
That's wild because V SYNC shouldn't affect it - its ony way to display game on your monitor
