I noticed today when playing that if sim who had this bug occuring to her called on the phone to unemployment of the career conservationist which she had been working on and not be able to get any higher then level 7 in and just then kept getting raises after raise. As soon as I took the same job again she got leveled up to career level 9 and then I could get a promotion to level 10 after playing. So it seems one can get around the bug, but at the same time it feels weird to have to say up her space in work just to re-add her to the same work to get the right level when it gets stuck in the loop of only getting raises after raise without any progress in the career.
