I’ve been having this issue as well.
Sim is in the law career and I’m playing on a Mac.
Saw previously it may have to do with the entrepreneurial trait which my sim DID have so I deleted the trait and she was promoted the next day. However, that was her only promotion and she’s back to now just getting raises and no promotions.
