NPC Sim invades home - inconclusive Cause (Patch 1.110)

Random Townies keep walking in my house. My Sim doesn't even know most of them, but all of a sudden, they're upstairs on the computer, watching TV, and walking through my home. It has been happening consistently post patch, but I have never had this happen before.

Did you build an r-rental there ? Can you interact with them ?

  • I've had it happen in several neighborhoods and in several different types of homes:

    • Newcrest, ordinary residential, man walks in and start taking a bath.
    • Mt Komorebi, 243 Wakabamori, ordinary residential, mailman walks through house each day to get to the mailbox that is on the other side of the building, as if there was a path (spawning point should be the side where the mailbox is)
    • Mt Komorebi, vacation renatal, man walks into the house and grabs something to eat.

And yes, I can interact with them.

crinrict sorry about the delay. The lot I'm playing in is just a normal residential and there are no residential rental lots in the neighborhood or in this world.

I can interact with the trespassers.

In this picture, the woman with light blue dress and black hair randomly came into my house. Interestingly, when I clicked on her, there was no interaction to 'Invite In', the game treats her as if she's been here for a while and has been talking with my sims (she hasn't, she just waltzed in and this is my first interaction with her).

I suppose that's possible. I've played in this lot many times before, but I don't remember having this problem nearly as badly before. Sims coming into my house have always happened just not this badly. I wonder if some of the recent updates changed something in the coding that changed certain Sims' behaviors regarding this.

I know for sure I've experienced this a lot also in Dresden House, in the Windslar neighborhood of Windenburg in this same save file. I've been playing with this legacy family in this save, originally in Dresden House then moved to 2-4-3- Wakabamori.

This is an older save file that I only play sporadically in (about 3~4 years old), so idk if its age affects anything related to the home invasions. I don't play in these lots in my other save files so I can't confirm if it happens in other saves as well.

  • I'm on console and I've started noticing this happening to me. I'm playing and sometimes don't even notice them, then I see them on a computer, or just randomly walking through the house from the back door and out the front door! It is very annoying

    Hello all,

If any of you are still encountering this on the latest game version (without mods), would you be willing to share your save file(s)? If so, please send me a private message with a link to the file.

    Instructions here

    Thanks!

I have this happening right now in my game. My sim lives in Windenburg in a residential rental with 3 units. Strangers keep walking into my house for no reason and I live on the 3rd floor, so they aren't walking through my house to go anywhere. These strangers are NOT my neighbors. My sim knows all her neighbors and I'm not sure what purpose these stranger sims have on my lot.... Is the gym on the 4th floor attracting them, or maybe the bar? It's really annoying. They shouldn't even be allowed to walk in the building... I would also like to add that I have rental unit events turned off in my game because they are annoying so it has nothing to do with that as far as I'm aware.
